Badrinath is well-known in the famous Char Dhams of India. Badrinath Dham is a religious place where both Nar and Narayan meet. According to the beliefs of the scriptures, it is also called Vishalpuri. Lord Vishnu is worshiped in Badrinath Dham. That is why it is also called Vishnudham. This Dham is one of the oldest pilgrims of the Himalayas. The main entrance of the temple is decorated with beautiful paintings. The main gate is named as Singhdwar. Badrinath Temple has very small statues of black stone with four arms.
Here Lord Vishnu sits in the currency of Padmasana.According to the belief related to Badrinath Dham, this Dham was established in Satyuga. This is the reason here, that the Greatness of this Dham has been found in all major scriptures. The idol of Lord Vishnu established in this Dharam has a diamond on the head. The idol is decorated with the crown of gold. The main idol here has many other idols. The idols of Narayana, Udvavji, Kuber and Narada are prominent among them.
Situated at a height of 1308 mts. amidst beautiful mountain ranges, terrace farms and small lakes, the picturesque township of Gopeshwar is the district headquarter of Chamoli. An ancient temple of Lord Shiva is the main attraction of the town and thousands of pilgrims come here throughout the year to visit the temple. Owing to its natural beauty and fresh and serene atmosphere, Gopeshwar is becoming a major attraction for the tourists. Many well known tourist spots and religious centres are spread around this town. According to historians, the name Gopeshwar has associations with the name of Lord Krishna.

Valley of Flowers National Park is an Indian national park which was established in 1982. It is located in Chamoli in the state of Uttarakhand and is known for its meadows of endemic alpine flowers and the variety of flora.
The valley is believed to have been discovered in 1931, when three British mountaineers – led by Frank S Smythe – lost their way and chanced upon this spectacular valley. Attracted by the beauty of this place they named it the “Valley of Flowers”. As the name suggests, Valley of Flowers is a destination where nature blooms in full glory offering a breathtaking experience. Exotic flowers (over 600 species) like orchids, poppies, primulas, marigold, daisies and anemones are an eye-catching spectacle. Sub-alpine forests birch and rhododendron cover parts of the park's area. The trek to the valley offers eye-catching spectacles like cascading waterfalls and wild streams.
Situated at a height of over 15,000 feet above the sea level in the Himalayan ranges of district Chamoli , Sri Hemkunt Sahib has emerged as a popular centre of Sikh Pilgrimage which is visited by thousands of devotees from all over the world every summer. Hemkund is inaccessible because of snow from October through April.
The take-off point for Hemkund is the town of Govindghat about 275 kilometres from Rishikesh. The 13 kilometres trek is along a reasonably well maintained path to the village of Ghangaria. There is another Gurudwara where pilgrims can spend the night. In addition there are a few hotels and a campground with tents and mattresses. A 1,100-metre (3,600 ft)climb on a 6-kilometre of stone paved path leads Hemkund. There are no sleeping arrangements at Hemkund so it is necessary to leave by 2 pm to make it back to Govindghat by nightfall.
Rudranath Temple is a temple of Lord Shiva situated in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand state of India,which is one of the Panchkedars .Located at an altitude of 2290 meters above sea level, the Rudranath temple is full of grand natural shade. In the Rudranath temple, Lord Shankar’s Ekanan means that the face is worshiped, while the whole body is worshiped in the Pashupatinath of Nepal’s capital of Kathmandu. The Nanda Devi and the snow-covered peaks of Trishul are visible from the front of the Rudranath temple.
The celestial temple is snuggled inside the rhododendron forests and the alpine meadows. The exhilarating trek to Rudranath temple can be either commenced from Sagar village, Helang or Urgam village. Rudranath temple is the toughest one to reach in comparison with other temples of Panch Kedar. The Himalayan peaks adding to the glory of Rudranath are Nanda Devi, Trishul and Nanda Ghunti.
The Tungnath temple is located at an altitude of about 3680 m above sea level, the temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is the highest Shiva Shrine among the Panch Kedar, 3 km uphill from Chopta. The sancity of the region of Tungnath is considered unsurpassed.
Tungnath is the highest Shiva temple in the world and is one of the five and the highest Panch Kedar temples located in the mountain range of Tungnath in Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand. This rocky terrain boasts of the obeisance of Shiva, the destroyer lord. The peak of Tungnath is the source of three springs that form the river Akashkamini. Tungnath is reached through a path that wends through alpine meadows & rhododendron thickets. 1 kms steep trek from Tungnath Temple leads to Chandrashila with its panoramic views. The temple is believed to be 1000 years old and is the second in the pecking order of the Panch Kedars. It has a rich legend linked to the Pandavas, heroes of the Mahabharata epic. And it is also believed that the present temple is built by the Pandavas to appease the Lord. The place boast of a serene and devout ambience where one can feel the presence of the almighty.
